Pee Without Noise Stool

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

I found this bizarre item on Japan Trend Shop.  If you really want to pee without noise well this is the solution I guess.

Introducing you the Pee Without Noise Stool.

The Pee Without Noise Stool is one of those ideas that’s so cool we’re embarrassed we didn’t think of it before. We’ve all been there: it’s 2am in a sleeping house, your mother-in-law is right behind you in line for the potty, or you don’t want to broadcast the fact that you downed six glasses of beer over the course of your date.

As great as it is to be able to pee standing up, there are some situations where you just want to do your business discreetly, and having the outlet several feet above the bowl makes it hard to keep the volume down.

You could sit, but not only is that unbecoming a man, you also risk splashing the rim. Enter the Pee Without Noise stool. Kneeling on its soft cushions positions you at the exact right height to land your stream in the bowl at a much-reduced velocity and volume level. This simple, elegant tool could save your dignity, your relationship, or even your life (if there’s a robber in the house but you just have to go)!

When I discovered this I first toughed it was a joke.  But you can order this and choose from polyurethane DX or wood Eco models.

Yahoo x Lapdancers

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

As it s open, inclusive hack day event Yahoo hired lapdancers to entertain.

Yesss,  it s a kind of thing you do just accidentally, hiring sex workers to come to your everyone’s invited, inclusive Hack Day event.  Two years in a row.  Two years in a row?  And the world did’nt notice this?  This is crazy… :-)

Here “the sorry letter”:

I wanted to acknowledge the public reaction generated by the images of female dancers at our Taiwan Open Hack Day this past weekend. Our hack events are designed to give developers an opportunity to learn about our APIs and technologies. As many folks have rightly pointed out, the “Hack Girls” aspect of our Taiwan Hack Day is not reflective of that spirit or purpose. And it’s certainly not the message we want to send about our values here at Yahoo!. Hack Days are about making everyone feel welcome, including women coders and technologists.
This incident is regrettable and we apologize to anyone that we have offended. Rest assured, it won’t happen again.

Best,

Chris Yeh
Head of YDN

We loooove it!

The treasure table
This table has been developed to contain all the necessary things while staying pure and clean. Things, hidden and well organised under the desk in the little drawers, provide you a better orientation during your work.
The table has been produced out of varnished wood with a translucent mat surfaced glass desk.
This table serves not only for storing stationery and your personal treasure but also for larger sizes of paper and drawings.
Next to writing tools, the drawers are conceived specially for the standard sizes of paper from A5 up to A2

The home fitness
A multi-functional set of objects intended for the interior as a contemporary furniture and for stretching your body at the same time.
The items are characterised by primary simple forms and geometric elements. The dimensions of each piece of furniture are optimised in order to serve both functions well.
The objects will be attractive to an active demographic who enjoy stretching, working out and shaping their bodies.
The goal of my work was to transform the conceptual idea into these actual series production pieces. In objects pretending to be furniture inherently, you are constantly revealing hidden meanings.

Anti-Photo Shield on Roman Abramovich’Giant Yacht

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch, appears to have come up with a novel solution to protect his privacy.

In a move that could eventually be copied by all discerning billionaires, Abramovich has installed an anti-paparazzi shield on his newest vessel, the world’s biggest and most expensive private yacht.

The high-tech system on Eclipse, a mega-yacht measuring up to 557ft, relies on lasers to block any digital camera lenses nearby.

The boat, which has reportedly more than doubled in cost to £724m since it was commissioned three years ago, glided out of port in Hamburg last week on its maiden voyage. On board were 150 engineers and maritime experts who will put it through its paces over 10 days. One witness described the boat as “a great white castle on water”.

The yacht — the fourth in Abramovich’s private fleet — drips luxury. It boasts two helipads, two swimming pools — the larger of which doubles up as a dance floor when drained — and 6ft-wide home cinema screens in all 24 guest cabins.

The master suite features a retractable roof, allowing the Chelsea football club owner and his girlfriend, Daria Zukhova, a former model, to sleep under the stars.

Mindful of a rise in piracy on the high seas, the yacht has a hull and windows capable of withstanding a missile attack and a mini-submarine for emergencies. Once it leaves the Blohm + Voss German shipyard, it will be fitted with a missile defence system in France.  Continue reading.

However, the boat’s most unusual feature is perhaps the anti-paparazzi “shield”.

Infrared lasers detect the electronic light sensors in nearby cameras, known as charge-coupled devices. When the system detects such a device, it fires a focused beam of light at the camera, disrupting its ability to record a digital image.

The beams can also be activated manually by security guards if they spot a photographer loitering.

Amazing…

The first 700c single speed folding bike…

Monday, September 21st, 2009

The BOSTON brings back the basics as the first available 700c single speed folding bike. Stripping the complexity of urban life away, this bike leaves you face to face with the open road.

Giving you the performance you want and the portability you need, the Boston rips up the streets all day long while still folding to fit in your closet or under you futon at the end of the day. It’s ready when you are.

The BOSTON is powered by a single-speed drivetrain that centers around a flip-flop hub. This special hub allows riders to change between a fixed-gear and free-wheel setup with little effort. The 42 x 16t drivetrain is low weight and perfectly geared for city riding.

The BOSTON can be folded in under 20 seconds without the use of tools. Clever integration of the patented CLIX System makes for quick removal of the front wheel. A flip of the CLIX quick release lever on the top tube and the bike folds to a compact size. If you forget to retighten the QR after unfolding, a secondary lock prevents the frame from folding.

Click The Montagueco site for more info!

Coming in Januari 2010.

This is the bike I want!  Almost my Bday folks … :-)

POSTRmagazine #3: The Energy Issue

Friday, September 18th, 2009

“It would take less than the lifespan of the average mobile phone battery for our modern civilization to plunge itself into violent rioting and mass hysteria.”

We tried hard to turn this into a positive story but unfortunately reality wouldn’t let us.
Brace yourself for a grimm look on what our hunger for energy brought us in the past and what lies ahead.Check the site for extra insight on the energy issue.   We’ll be posting our solution to the problem, as far fetched as it may seem, and an interview we did with solar power expert Hermann Scheer.

Postrmagazines are being shipped, flown and hand delivered as we speak so look out for it at your favourite pick-up spot.

Check their site for more info!!!!!

We liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike it!
