Yahoo x Lapdancers

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

As it s open, inclusive hack day event Yahoo hired lapdancers to entertain.

Yesss,  it s a kind of thing you do just accidentally, hiring sex workers to come to your everyone’s invited, inclusive Hack Day event.  Two years in a row.  Two years in a row?  And the world did’nt notice this?  This is crazy… :-)

Here “the sorry letter”:

I wanted to acknowledge the public reaction generated by the images of female dancers at our Taiwan Open Hack Day this past weekend. Our hack events are designed to give developers an opportunity to learn about our APIs and technologies. As many folks have rightly pointed out, the “Hack Girls” aspect of our Taiwan Hack Day is not reflective of that spirit or purpose. And it’s certainly not the message we want to send about our values here at Yahoo!. Hack Days are about making everyone feel welcome, including women coders and technologists.
This incident is regrettable and we apologize to anyone that we have offended. Rest assured, it won’t happen again.

Best,

Chris Yeh
Head of YDN

Boy O Boy!
Do I have a pretty story to tell with (lots of) pretty pictures for the ones that hate to read!
Like Etta said: At Last!
Raphael Saadiq in the land of waffles, beer and exquisite chocolate.
It’s like Raphael has always been around, discrete in the background, but very much present. At least, for the ones with that specific ear longing for that specific sound.
Raphael Saadiq is a born writer, musician, singer ànd producer. After touring with Prince. (Yes Thé Prince) Lucy Pearl gave him worldwide recognition and when he released his first solo album, that resulted in 5 Grammy nominations. He produced for Whitney Houston, Joss Stone, Kelis, Stevie Wonder, Q-Tip, Jaguar Wright, Leela James, Musiq Soulchild and I hàve to mention his work on that àmazing track ‘Untitled’ (How does it Feel) with D’Angelo that gave him the Grammy Nomination for Best RnB song and gave D’Angelo a Grammy for Best Male Vocal RnB. The treasure table
This table has been developed to contain all the necessary things while staying pure and clean. Things, hidden and well organised under the desk in the little drawers, provide you a better orientation during your work.
The table has been produced out of varnished wood with a translucent mat surfaced glass desk.
This table serves not only for storing stationery and your personal treasure but also for larger sizes of paper and drawings.
Next to writing tools, the drawers are conceived specially for the standard sizes of paper from A5 up to A2

The home fitness
A multi-functional set of objects intended for the interior as a contemporary furniture and for stretching your body at the same time.
The items are characterised by primary simple forms and geometric elements. The dimensions of each piece of furniture are optimised in order to serve both functions well.
The objects will be attractive to an active demographic who enjoy stretching, working out and shaping their bodies.
The goal of my work was to transform the conceptual idea into these actual series production pieces. In objects pretending to be furniture inherently, you are constantly revealing hidden meanings.

Anattitude & SupAfly

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

We had a great party last saterday.  Thank you all for your support and love.
Thank you for being there and thank you to believe in us.
A big up to the SupAfly team!  We made it!
Thank you! :-)

Lefto left some words on his page:
Wow, that was a cool night.  Le Tavernier hosted the Anattitude Magazine release party; together with the Supafly girls they built an amazing line-up with as headliner non other than Yarah Bravo.  It all started quite early for me, had to be there for Yarah’s soundcheck around 5pm, checked some of Lizairo’s photos upstairs, saw half a piece of Koor’s art haha, then run to the local radiostation to do the Back To Niceness show, then grab some delicious food Nadia of the Supafly girls made; checked my girl Fatoosan’s first steps into the world of deejays that actually mix records ;-) she did a great job.   Her partner Miki did a nice and open set right before A Cat Called Fritz’ DJ Lyrik.  I’ve heard good music from the start, and people loved it.  Then came the live acts with Beatdrunx, always raw and hard and definitely coming strong live; it’s pure energy and they got flows like water.  Yarah Bravo was up next, the headliner for the night, and she kidnapped me to be her deejay for tonite; read more
