The first 700c single speed folding bike…

Monday, September 21st, 2009

The BOSTON brings back the basics as the first available 700c single speed folding bike. Stripping the complexity of urban life away, this bike leaves you face to face with the open road.

Giving you the performance you want and the portability you need, the Boston rips up the streets all day long while still folding to fit in your closet or under you futon at the end of the day. It’s ready when you are.

The BOSTON is powered by a single-speed drivetrain that centers around a flip-flop hub. This special hub allows riders to change between a fixed-gear and free-wheel setup with little effort. The 42 x 16t drivetrain is low weight and perfectly geared for city riding.

The BOSTON can be folded in under 20 seconds without the use of tools. Clever integration of the patented CLIX System makes for quick removal of the front wheel. A flip of the CLIX quick release lever on the top tube and the bike folds to a compact size. If you forget to retighten the QR after unfolding, a secondary lock prevents the frame from folding.

Coming in Januari 2010.

This is the bike I want!  Almost my Bday folks … :-)

POSTRmagazine #3: The Energy Issue

Friday, September 18th, 2009

“It would take less than the lifespan of the average mobile phone battery for our modern civilization to plunge itself into violent rioting and mass hysteria.”

We tried hard to turn this into a positive story but unfortunately reality wouldn’t let us.
Brace yourself for a grimm look on what our hunger for energy brought us in the past and what lies ahead.Check the site for extra insight on the energy issue.   We’ll be posting our solution to the problem, as far fetched as it may seem, and an interview we did with solar power expert Hermann Scheer.

Postrmagazines are being shipped, flown and hand delivered as we speak so look out for it at your favourite pick-up spot.

Check their site for more info!!!!!

We liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike it!

Summer of Bonkers

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Another No Balls, No Glory; A Polaroid story by our girl Ouni, Summer of Bonkers.

How was your Summer?  Did it have all the perfect ingredients for it to be an ever lasting memory?  Sun and sand, cocktails and a crush to top it all off? Good for you!  If you are enjoying the last strokes of an indian summer, I’d have to admit that I am jealous. I don’t know where you guys live, but in Belgium it seems like God turned off the summer light and switched it on to winter. Anyhow, here is my Summer recap, or how this other Knotoryus blogger spelled out so well: My festival-a-thon. For the ones that like short stories with a lot of pictures and a happy ending?  Please click forward.  This summer was all about the festivals and my first to combine that with a Polaroid hunt. Let me tell  you something. I am not very in to festivals. I prefer sand and sea before grass and mud.  A deserted beach before a moch pit. A cabane before a tent.  But, anything for the blog, so I went hunting with Jules in my tail. Continue Reading

We looooooooooooooooooooooooove :-)  Ouni and her Polaroid Story.

Enjoy her moment!

Marrakech Travel Photo Report Day 4: Palais De Bahia

Friday, September 18th, 2009

5 Th of august, Palais de Bahia.

I was really impressed how big and well preserved the palace was.

The Bahia Palace is a palace and a set of gardens located in Marrakech, Morocco. It was built in the late 19Th century, intended to be the greatest palace of its time. The name means ‘brilliance’. As in other buildings of the period in other countries, it was intended to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan style. There is a 2 acre (8,000 m²) garden with rooms opening onto courtyards.  Continue Reading

Cakeland by Scott Hove

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Scott Hove was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area. He attended California College of Arts and Crafts 1987-1990, but considers himself a primarily self-taught artist. He lives and works in Oakland, enjoying the company of his dog Bluto.

Cakeland is a sculptural installation resembling a collection of perfect delicious cakes– wall mounted, hanging and standing– a walk-through cake environment complete with its own lighting.  It is a sweet refuge, an endless kaleidoscopic landscape of cake, a respite from the grinding realities of the outside world.

The sculptures have all of the appeal of the best cake you have ever tasted, but can never be eaten.  Whereas the nature of edible cake is fleeting, lasting only as long as the brief celebration it was made for, these cakes last as long as the artist or society have the wherewithal to preserve them, in order that they remain a place of pilgrimage, a seemingly idyllic oasis.  Read more…

The International Arts Pestival 2009

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Pestival is a mobile arts festival examining insect-human interactivity in bioscience, through paradigms of contemporary art, cinema, music and comedy as well as direct scientific demonstration and educational projects.

Pestival will bring together eminent international artists and scientists and local and global communities to collaborate on cutting-edge interdisciplinary art projects, placing the natural world under the microscope in order to further public understanding of our place within the biosphere.

Pestival aims to initiate a cultural shift in the way people think, moving them towards a more integrated way of looking at the natural world. Pestival’s lasting legacy is to forge new working relationships between disciplines, communities and species.

You want to go and visit Pestival at the Southbank Centre? Click here for more.

Amazing…. !
